Explosion on Yacht Sutil Kills One Child in Burrard Inlet Race

In Vancouver a fire on the yacht Sutil during the Goodsell Barry rowing race trapped nine year old Jean Whitelaw in the cabin, believed burned to death. Eleven others survived, two with critical injuries, including Mrs. Hugh Davis who was rescued in a drowning state by harbor master A. W. Reed. Commander Reed swam to safety with the unconscious woman, while Harry Tupper risked flames to save the Whitelaw boy.

M J Swanson Dies After Auto Accident

Three men from the Jim Mitchell ranch north of the river were in a Hudson car returning from a farm visit near Box Sprigs when a tire came off on a sharp curve. Rotary Members Tour Havre in Fraternal Visit

Havre Rotary members hosted visiting Medicine Hat Rotarians and their escorts for a two day gathering. New Wheat Arrives at Local Mills From Farms

The first wagon of new wheat reached town at Lake of the Words Mill, hauled by John Stewart from five miles north of the city. It weighed 63 pounds per bushel and graded No 1 Northern, with Stewart noting a 45 bushel per acre yield. Other deliveries include C Beck of Bingville delivering No 1 Northern at 63 pounds to the bushel and two carloads from Bassano grading No 1 Northern at 63 pounds. Maple Leaf mill reported a crload from Skiff last Thursday as No 3 Northern at 61 pounds per bushel.
