AL Brown strikes a near inexhaustible water supply from his Kinistino avenue bore. The mineral soft water will power a large pumping engine and tank to supply the town. He plans concrete baths heated by the pump house and will send water samples to Ottawa for analysis.
Mrs Hunt at Medicine Hat reports the birth of a son on the 26th. Mrs W Nicolls of Medicine Hat announces a daughter born on September 5th.
Lizzie Morrey of Medicine Hat wed J W Cain, engineer with Canadian Pacific Railway, at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Winnipeg. Rev Father Cherrier officiated. Lizzie is the fourth daughter of Mr Thomas Morrey formerly of Cheshire England now based in Medicine Hat.

Bert Gee writes from the front detailing the May 23 25 voyage from Cape Town to Durban aboard the Maplemore, the march to Fort Eshowe, the Buller led advances through Ladysmith Newcastle and Charlestown, baptism by fire at Zand Spruit, and ongoing patrols as the Strathcona Horse supports artillery in a widening campaign. The Medicine Hat Liberal Association held its annual meeting in the Reading Room on Monday evening. Dr. J. G. Calder was elected president with W. A. Burton as vice president, and W. Crosskill as secretary treasurer. A strong resolution praised Sir Wilfrid Laurier’s government for reforms and national progress, and urged unity among diverse groups. The meeting adjourned after forwarding the resolution to Laurier. Also noted were church and local civic items and Calgary cattle breeders meeting plans.
At Moose Jaw 83 delegates from across Western Assiniboia nominates Nicholas Flood Davin for the Liberal-Conservative banner. E N Hopkins chairs, Thomas Tweed moves Davin with unanimous approval amid cheers, as Sir Charles Tupper leads party prospects. Winnipeg Telegram report.

Plans and tenders are to be prepared, tax exemption for ten years requested, and land offered by Townsite Company at $150 per acre. The Australian Comedy Co a first class company direct from Australia performs at the Opera House one night Monday Sept 17 also plays in Calgary under the auspices of the Exhibition on the 13 16 and 15.
