Court OKs six pipeline appeals from Indigenous consultation questions
The Federal Court of Appeal will hear six challenges to Trans Mountain expansion focusing on Indigenous consultation between August 2018 and June 2019 while dismissing other environmental claims. Justice Stratas notes applicants say hurried talks rendered consultation inadequate. Parties include Coldwater Indian Band Squamish Nation Tsleil-Waututh Upper Nicola Stk'emlupseme Te Secwepeme and a Fraser Valley First Nations coalition.
