Lobster fisher nets rare leatherback sea turtle in New Brunswick
Norbert Duguay hauled a 318 kilogram leatherback turtle 2.4 meters long from Petit Cap and brought it to shore. Despite efforts to revive it, the endangered sea creature died and was sent to the New Brunswick Museum in Saint John. The turtle’s age and sex are unknown. such turtles may live over a century.
