Central Block fire labeled suspicious by investigators
Medicine Hat Fire Department says the recent Central Block blaze is suspicious and has enlisted the forensic identification unit for lab sampling. Fire Chief Garry Mauch notes debris analysis and lab results will guide the investigation, now adopting a task force approach with police aid. The Aug 19 fire at Second Street SE remains unexplained. Floyd Rowan, owner, has limited involvement as insurance controls the site.
