A Cobb Road S.E. residence was ransacked with a Dell computer jewelry and collector coins stolen after entry through a rear window during lunch Oct. 27. An air compressor was stolen from a utility trailer on Ranchlands Lane NE overnight Oct. 25. Call Medicine Hat Police Service with information.
A Sunday river trip near High River Alberta turned fatal when a man in his 50s drowned after a dinghy capsized on submerged debris. Two companions escaped by clinging to a log as the boat snagged tree branches. The body briefly surfaced before becoming entangled again in debris.
In Vancouver 13,500 Telus workers voted 50.3 percent against a tentative agreement, keeping the strike active since July 21. Telecommunications Workers Union president Bruce Bell says the majority rejected the deal and the union will resume efforts for a better agreement.
