Silver Islet drill aims to prove rich ore vein
Engineer PD C Peacock of the Silver Islet Exploration Co reports a draft along the trap dyke at the 409 foot level near the new dyke intersection. He expects silver ore as rich as the old Iver Islet vein, which yielded over three million dollars, and plans a 13 000 foot drift to test three veins. Dead body found near Redcliff coal miner John Niduk
The deceased, John Niduk a coal miner from Redcliff, was found last night about 150 yards west of the Redcliff depot. It is believed he fell while attempting to board a freight train headed to Medicine Hat. The coroner ruled death accidental and no inquest is planned. He is survived by his wife and one child.

Trio of gunmen receive long jail sentences in Regina
In Regina on October 27 Judge Hannon sentenced Jack Lolaraine Arthur Woodman and William Lemarr to 12 11 and 1 years hard labor respectively at Prince Albert penitentiary. They pleaded guilty to shooting Sergeant Lougheed RCMP and to five earlier charges including assault robbery theft evoking violent resistance during arrest. The defendants were captured after a gun battle on Dewdney street and at Clark's farm. Lougheed was severely wounded.

Steamer Fukui Maru Sunk in Pacific Hurricane
Seattle Oct 28 The Japanese steamer Fukui Maru sank about 975 miles off Cape Flattery in a hurricane last night. All passengers and crew were picked up by the freighter Westivan and brought to harbor. The vessel was bound for Seattle when the disaster occurred.

Robert Hendry of Morrison & Co located a cache worth about 125000 in the late Dr Joseph Simms and Mrs Jemima Sinclair Simms apartment.
