Sir Robert Horne, in the House of Commons second reading, moved to extend the export credits scheme and loan facility to 25 million pounds. He said any government or undertaking worldwide could apply for a loan, with preference for proposals from the Dominions. He added aid would not be given to countries able to raise money on their own credit.

Canadian Pacific Rusway Breaks Grain Handling Record
Winnipeg October 24 The Canadian Pacific Rusway yesterday broke the world record for grain handling. He moved east from Winnipeg fifteen hundred and seventy nine loaded cars in 24 hours. These cars were handled in forty one trains. They contained between two million five hundred thousand and three million bushels of grain. If the cars were placed in a continuous line without locomotives, they would cover a distance of twelve miles.
