Corn Borer Found In Alberta At Medicine Hat Field

European corn borer, the worst corn pest, found for the first time in Alberta in a Medicine Hat district field. Officials ordered destruction of all corn in city and district by burning or deep plowing to eradicate the threat to local crops and market gardens. The discovery came from a periodic survey by the science service laboratory. officials suspect cross-border origin from Saskatchewan.
