Medicine Hat Police Service launched the fifth Internet Crime Stoppers site at a police commission meeting. The mhcrimestoppers.ca tip form mirrors a modern, accessible platform aimed at youth, supplementing the 1982 program that has yielded 2065 arrests and 1181 cleared cases, with over 1 million in stolen property and 755 thousand in drugs recovered.

Canine influenza virus sickens more than 100 dogs in Chestnut Ridge and across the United States. Experts report a steady spread with no vaccine yet, a mortality rate around five percent, and evidence the virus jumped from horses to dogs. Greyhounds at tracks were first hit, now pets in California, Florida, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon and Washington show symptoms of coughs and fever as researchers work on a vaccine.
