Citizens Debate Water Works and Bylaw Funding
A Thursday public meeting on a bylaw to raise 15 000 via debenture for waterworks extensions drew 40 to 50 ratepayers with little opposition. Aldermen Huckvale Forster and others defended the Water Commissioners noting they were completing prior year plans. Mayor Cousins and speakers urged prompt spending to extend mains to hill residents and ensure city water needs amid criticism and questions about costs and management.
