18-year-old Cole Sillinger makes the Columbus Blue Jackets opening night NHL roster after impressive camp. He becomes one of two 18-year-olds on the opening roster and the first to jump from USHL to the NHL in one season. Alberta to keep vaccine passport through early 2022

Premier Jason Kenney said Alberta will maintain its voluntary vaccine passport through at least the first quarter of 2022 as colder weather raises viral spread concerns. Health Minister Jason Copping announced a QR code app to display vaccination proof, with Nov. 15 as the deadline to show full vaccination status.

Survey shows broad support for masks in schools in Canada

A Canada wide survey by the University of Saskatchewan finds 78 per cent support mask wearing in schools and 70 per cent remain concerned about COVID-19 spread in local schools. Vaccinated respondents report higher acceptance of masking and other safeguards. Regional differences appear, with Quebec and Prairie provinces showing less support for measures.
