Toronto heavyweight champion George Chuvalo stopped Dick Wipperman in the fifth round of a scheduled 10 round non title match. Chuvalo, weighing 223, dropped Wipperman with a left early in the frame and again as he pursued him around the ring. Wipperman rose at the count of nine but was labeled dazed and referee halted the contest.
