Missing U S bound sex offender located but not arrestable
Edmonton police say Michael Sean Stanley, a high risk sex offender missing since Oct 1, was found in the United States. He cannot be arrested as he is not wanted on charges south of the border. Authorities warned U S border officials he might cross, and he did cross into Blaine Washington Monday night. Det. Chris Hayduk said authorities plan to follow up and the U S border shutdown does not affect efforts. Stanley has prior sexual offence history against women and children and had been missing after his electronic bracelet was cut off. West central Saskatchewan schools had locked doors after unconfirmed sightings, while Lethbridge police found Stanley's SUV.
