Porcelain dentures on display at London museum

The London museum shows an 18th century set of porcelain dentures once owned by Arthur Richard Dillon Archbishop of Narbonne. The teeth, about 200 years old, came from Dillon who fled the French Revolution to Britain to escape the guillotine. The exhibit coincides with World Smile Day and features Catherine Steventon posing for AP photos.

Mock abduction staged by students ends in high risk takedown

In Barrhaven Ontario five 19-year-old males were arrested at gunpoint after a resident reported a man being pulled into a van. Ottawa police, unaware a teacher sanctioned the stunt, conducted a high risk takedown on a public street. No charges will be laid.

Medicine Hat woman's murder case set to Oct 26

The Medicine Hat woman accused as an accessory in the Marc Richardson family triple slayings had her matters adjourned to Oct. 26 in provincial court. Kacy Lancaster, 19, faces allegations of destroying evidence, lying to police, and aiding suspects to flee. Co-accused include Jeremy Steinke and a 12-year-old girl in the April 23 killings of Marc Debra and eight-year-old Jacob Richardson. Lancaster remains out on bail. next steps include a teleconference to set dates for a preliminary inquiry.

Local plane crash victim still critical

A Medicine Hat businessman Russel Koch remained in critical condition at Foothills Hospital Calgary after a Tuesday September plane crash near Elkwater. Koch survived a call leading rescuers to the wreck. Flight instructor Georgianna Greg, 21, died in the crash and was from Victoria, B.C. Koch’s sister-in-law Beth Campbell reported his condition.

Students recycle for education program boosts Canadian schools

More than 600 Canadian elementary and high schools participated in STAPLES Recycling for Education in the past year. About 270,000 inkjet and tower cartridges were saved from disposal, with $1 from each saved going to participating schools. Schools can register online before Dec 31, 2006 at www.RecycleForEd.ca.

Police raid home of Quebec teen faces threats case

An 18 year old man named Renaud Emard was arraigned after Quebec provincial police anti-terror squad raided a Ste-Perrot home over online threats. Police found hunting rifles handguns and prohibited weapons. He is charged with uttering threats and possessing prohibited weapons and will return to court next Wednesday.

First Complete Plesiosaur Skeleton Found in Arctic

The University of Oslo and researchers on Svalbard Island report the discovery of a short-necked plesiosaur skeleton, described as enormous with large teeth and a head capable of swallowing a whale. Scientists say it may be the first complete plesiosaur skeleton ever found.
