Chretien May Ban Corporate Donations In New Legislation
Medicine Hat MP Monte Solberg supports a measure to ban corporate and trade union donations to political parties and greatly limit individual donations. The bill would rely on personal contributions, boost public subsidies, require disclosure of donations over 200, and cap nomination spending while facing Charter challenges and fairness concerns for new or growing parties.
