Severe Newfoundland Snow Storm Halts Transit and Schools
A record Newfoundland snowfall blanketed the southeastern Avalon Peninsula with about 30 centimetres near St John s International Airport shutting Memorial University classes and many schools and businesses. Public transit buses paused, later resumed, while residents shoveled and helped each other amid minor accidents and warnings to stay off the roads.
