Paris reports Senator Paul Doumer accepted the task to form a cabinet for President Doumergean. Briand said he could not form a cabinet and would abandon the effort. Doumer aims for a lean coalition, avoiding a wide sweep of rival factions to secure parliamentary support.
Coast grain movement improves with gossip in railway circles predicting the embargo will be lifted within ten days. Despite restrictions, heavy westward movement continues with 217 cars unloaded and 2,500 cars on tracks in British Columbia divisions of CN and CP. There are 4,500,000 bushels in local elevators and shipments proceed regularly.

A Berkeley suburbs blaze last night killed Josephine Ruoff and her two young daughters Gerahlive aged 9 and Josephine May aged one. The mother died attempting to rescue them. Conrad Root, father of the children, and two other daughters were seriously burned and hospitalized.

Toronto reports a long list of resolutions for the United Farmers of Ontario annual meeting at Madgoy Hall beginning December 8. A key proposal asks the federation to refrain from political activity except to watch legislation affecting farmers and to urge passage of agricultural legislation. It also calls for any official who runs for office to resign.
