Scalding incident at Medicine Hat care home sparks investigation
A disabled resident suffered second degree burns after being lowered into scalding bath water on Nov. 2 at a REDI Enterprises Society group home in Medicine Hat. The support worker was dismissed and the case is under investigation. the victim's identity has not been released. The executive director cited failed temperature control and lack of temperature check per protocol. The patient received care at Medicine Hat Regional Hospital and was released.

Second degree murder bail hearing delayed for Stopanski
A Medicine Hat man charged with second degree murder, Jerrison Herve Stopanski, 34, had his bail hearing delayed as Crown prosecutors filed a corrected evidence set. The hearing to decide his release while awaiting trial on the June murder of Amy Lewis was postponed after earlier proceedings by Justice William Tilleman, who reserved judgment until Friday.
