West Nile severity higher than experts predicted in Ontario

An Ontario report found West Nile virus caused severe illness in one in 84 cases in south Oakville during summer 2002, nearly double the common one in 150 rate. Among older people the rate rose to about one in 40 or 50, with two Oakville postal code areas bearing the highest burden.

Graham vows review of torture cases, rejects public inquiry
