Insurance licence cancelled for Rocky Mountain Life Co

Alberta shelves Athabasca University plan and fourth campus

Advanced Education Minister Jim Foster announced Ottawa that Alberta will not commit to a site or opening date for a fourth university and has shelved Athabasca University. A four to five year pilot tests independent learning, tutorials, and flexible programs with 250 students in temporary facilities as planning continues. The Athabasca project was proposed in 1970 to relieve University of Alberta enrollment pressures and was slated to open in St Albert in 1973.
