Toronto CP reports a late selling wave slowed the long advance in industrials at the stock exchange. Base metals touched 1954 55 index highs while golds and western oils showed mixed results. Papers, steels, retailers and liquor stocks rose up to two points. Consolidated Dennison led gains, up 50.
Calgary livestock dealers saw brisk trade with 670 cattle offered by 11 a.m. Prices held firm overall. Top butcher steers fetched about 19.50 to 19.60, with medium and common cattle showing steady or near steady values. heifers and cows followed similar trends. Hogs gained 25 cents, sows slipped, and lambs remained steady at 18 to 19.
