Cloud Burst Disrupts City Power and Flooding Last Night
A three hour rain storm struck Medicine Hat with strong winds and a bolt of electrical display causing city lights to flicker heaviest rain fell between Medicine Hat and Brooks. A 42 mile per hour gale uprooted branches and littered streets while power outages hit local circuits and safety switches tripped at the powerhouse. Fire brigade responded to a pole fire behind the 900 block of Fifth Street but rain extinguished the blaze before arrival.
