In Belvedere Kent two women a 50 year old mother Maude Lewis and her daughter Freda aged 20 were found buried beneath a newly laid ornamental fish pond on a suburban estate. Police suspect poisoning and seek Mr Lewis missing husband and father. The pair died several days before discovery with their dog interred nearby. The Lewis family were prominent in education and church activities.
