Edmonton jury returned a not guilty verdict at 3 35 p m yesterday in the case of George S Armstrong charged with theft of 50000 in Merchants bank bills from the Sidmanton post office registration dept in August 1919. After charges were given and jurors retired at 3 25, the verdict came after a brief wait amid applause. The postmaster stood as directed, Justice Simmons discharged Armstrong and adjourned court as Armstrong and his wife embraced amid congratulating friends.

Capacity of Lake of Woods plant to expand greatly

Winnipeg reports that Tale of the Woods Willing Co will spend about a quarter of a million dollars this season to expand its western Canadian operations. The Kenora mill will gain two stories, increase capacity to 2000 barrels daily, and elevator capacity to 200000 bushels. New elevators will be built across Alberta and Manitoba stations including Hallonquist Lake Johnston, Blackie Lomon, and others. An extra story and 30000 dollar upgrade will boost the Kenora plant.
