Paris notes say Americans west of Montdidier repulsed two German counter attacks against Cautigny and that fighting continued on the Veste river heights with French defense steadfast.
New York reports from Dr. John Salvpus of Scranton who toured Lithuania with the Lithuanian Relief committee say Lithuanians seek full independence from Germany and reject Russia or Poland. They face food shortages, anti German sentiment runs high, and a 106000 man force on the border supports a future self governed state.
Crecent Heights residents gain a gentler climb as city workers begin a new cinder path from Sixth Avenue near St Patrick's Church up the hill to Fifth Avenue. The grade is one to two percent gentler than Sixth Avenue lowering effort for those in the northern suburb.
