Four masked robbers attacked two buggies carrying a semi monthly payroll of 8 000 dollars from the Zinb Mine Company five miles southeast of Lasalle Illinois. Guards Ben Dierks was killed. West, Richmond, and Desleyle were wounded as the robbers fired on the guards and escaped with no payroll recovered.
