CMA challenges Alberta transgender youth care law
The Canadian Medical Association filed a charter challenge in Alberta Court of King's Bench arguing the law restricting hormone therapy and puberty blockers for under 16 and banning gender reassignment surgery for under 18 infringes doctors freedom of conscience. CMA says the bills interfere with physician patient relations and compel legal compliance over clinical judgment.
