Bandits Torture Alta. Farmer and Loot Home

Three men broke into the farm home of George Munchkon near Nisku Alberta at midnight. They tortured him with a rope until he revealed cash storage then stole $100 and fled in a waiting car. RCMP reported the suspects left no clues.

Spanking prescribed for Windsor joyriding youths

Magistrate Hanrahan in Windsor Ontario ordered a suspended two year sentence for four teenage car thieves and urged fathers to administer a spanking to deter further joy rides, noting the danger of neglect. The youths had taken a car for joy rides three times and returned it each time.

Turgeon grain commission adjourns hearings in Regina

The Turgeon royal grain commission adjourned until autumn after hearing proposals to improve Canadian marketing and expand overseas wheat markets. Justice W. F. A.
