Changes in IGA provisions urged by Wheat Board chief
Ottawa CP W C McNamara chairman of the Canadian Wheat Board told the Commons agriculture committee that IGA provisions including wheat price differentials must be adjusted to work properly. He said Canada faces a straitjacket in export sales from rigid price differentials and urged a review committee of exporting and importing countries to fix trading prices. He noted U S price cuts and that IGA being part of GATT limited Russia’s full partnership and warned exports for the current year may fall short of last year’s 336 million bushels.
