Mayor Harry Weiner said the Alberta Western Beef Co. owes the city over 50 000 in back taxes and utility bills and may be auctioned. A March council agreement required payment by June 1, with the city asserting priority over debenture holders if payments fail.
Leaders of the Dominican rebel congress charged the United States with coercive interference in Dominican internal affairs. The message, signed by Arevalo Cedeno Valdez and Anibal Campagna, urged support from free democracies and cited Johnson administration envoys' push for a coalition government under Antonio Guzman.
In Medicine Hat Magistrate A Y Spivack dismissed a charge against Ludwig and Sons Lt for operating buses for school children. He ruled the firm was not a busline under Bylaw 1206 which governs the city transit franchise. The Separate School Board used the School Act to provide student transport. The minimum remains 3000 while most teachers receive substantial increases. By 1968 the cost to the board reaches 104645 two mills based on current assessment.
