Alberta Health Plan aims for 90 percent enrollment
EDMONTON CP Alberta's new medical insurance program the Alberta Health Plan starts July 1 with a broad publicity push to explain costs and enroll about 400000 households. The goal is 90 percent participation to meet federal cost sharing, though the plan remains non compulsory while replacing the Alberta Medical Plan which covers about 87 percent. Health Minister Dr Donovan Ross said 90 percent enrollment could secure the plan's aims.
