Vittoria May 25 The Oliver government is cleared of all charges of improper use of campaign funds after a royal commission report by Mr Justice Morrison H Henderson and W H Malkin. Canada to Cancel Trade Pact With the Soviet

Ottawa May 26 The Canadian government decided to terminate immediately the trade agreement with Russia after cabinet deliberations. Premier King said the move follows Britain severing ties with Soviet Russia and that violations by the Russian government justified termination. Trade will continue under other channels, with some quasi diplomatic privileges ending. No espionage or subversive propaganda was found at the Montreal office of the Russian Trade Commission.

Moose Jaw Sheriff Shot Dead in Court House

Moose Jaw Sask May 26 Lieutenant Colonel Norman Gentles D O Sheriff of the Judicial District of Moose Jaw was found shot dead in the basement of the Moose Jaw court house at noon. He entered his office about 9 00 and later disappeared. Deputy Sheriff Vollmer located him in a dark passage after a half hour search.

Soviet Says Nothing About Western Horse Purchase

Ottawa reports the Department of Agriculture has not been notified of the termination of the provisional Soviet agreement for buying four thousand horses in Canada. The department said it was not assuming financial responsibility for the purchases. The price per head was about 35 dollars.
