Montreal May 26 Jury selection started for eleven men charged with the murder of Henri Cheroux the Bank of Hochears car holdup victim. About $143 000 was stolen. Authorities barred unauthorized spectators with steel gates and card access to the courtroom.

Horse and Auto Collision Near Dunmore

A Friday evening crash near Dunmore involving a horse and an automobile left the horse destroyed after being struck, breaking its hind legs. The rider, Harry Quesnelle, sustained bruising and shock. The car, driven by Mr McWilliams of Dunmere, suffered a broken radiator.

Auto Blown Against Telegraph Pole at Bow Island

A car traveling from Medicine Flat to Grassy Lake was blown into a telegraph pole by wind and darkness near Bow Island. Wind and dust caused the crash. passengers were shaken but not seriously hurt, suffering only minor injuries. Rain fell lightly on Sunday at Bow Island, offering little benefit to crops.

Saturday Storm Causes Minimal Damage and Wildlife Drift

A strong Saturday night wind caused limited damage including a shed roof at Central Park Bakery and a downed electric pole at Muth Street disrupting service. Fences, fallen trees, and scattered debris appeared citywide while many horses and cattle wandered into the area, filling the local pound. Weather varied with heavy rain in the Happy Yellow district and four hours of rainfall at Altersan, with Jenner recording half an inch. Captain Bower Ininay, a ship owner and racehorse fancier, died today at Hazel Beech Tall Northampton from sleeping sickness.

Lindsay man held after fatal shooting of Deatrice Fee

In Lindsay Ontario last night Deatrice Fee 39 of Toronto died from four bullet wounds after a motor ride with Fred McCaughey 23 was shot. McCaughey was arrested by Provindial Police Officer Storey after a struggle during which a Paris Green package was wrestled away. The attack occurred near McCaughey’s farm and Miss Fee was taken to a fuceal hospital for serious injuries. Wheat inspections reported 5420 cars inspected with 472 graded contract and 2850 cars last year at this time.

Father and four children perish in burning house

A family tragedy near Satfield described as a gas can explode while father attempted to fight a kitchen fire. The blaze trapped Mrs. Gast and the four children upstairs. all perished. The eldest child was about ten or eleven, and rescue attempts failed as the house burned rapidly.
