Located on the roof of the sixth floor which houses the mechanical systems for the Hospital the helipad is surrounded by a Flange of safety netting. From the helipad there is a ramp of about 40 metres that will be used to wheel patients to and from the trauma elevator Vestibule. The elevator takes patients directly to the floor where the operating rooms Are located. There Are two designated flight paths for the heliport. One to the Northeast and one to the Southwest. The helipad has been designed and constructed to accommodate stars and Halo helicopters. There is one flight path with an h3 classification to accommodate the Bell 206 Long Ranger operated by Halo said Sharon Lopatka director of communications for Alberta infrastructure. An aerodrome application has been accepted by transport Canada. Transport Canada will provide an operational certificate prior to it being used. To obtain an operational certificate the heliport must be inspected by transport Canada for compliance with regulation along with a owners provision of a heliport operations manual that also meets the conditions of regulation.
