Two Males Face Firearm Charges in Train Incident

Brooks RCMP charged one man with pointing a firearm after he shouldered a gun at a Canadian Pacific freight train passing the Range Road 15 crossing. Police detained two males nearby. both were released. One man faces a June court appearance. authorities say further charges could follow.

Safe weekend at Dinosaur Kinbrook Island and Tilleybrook Parks

Brooks RCMP and Provincial Parks Conservation officers report a safe and enjoyable holiday across Dinosaur Provincial Park Kinbrook Island and Tilleybrook Parks with patrols preventing incidents. Parks enforcement issued two 24 hour suspensions from driving one suspended driver violation and two provincial violation tickets. In Brooks and Newell areas 56 provincial tickets were issued along with one provincial liquor ticket and one impaired driving charge.

Inmate wins fee waiver ruling against Alberta SG office

The Alberta Privacy Commissioner ruled in favor of an unnamed prisoner seeking access to non personal bookkeeping records from the Inmate Welfare Trust Fund. The inmate asked for a $25 fee waiver due to poverty. the Solicitor General's office refused. Adjudicator Dave Bell waved the fee, finding the department misapplied its discretion.
