Dr S W Fox leader of Manitoba Social Credit group surrendered in Winnipeg on a charge of attempting to procure a miscarriage. He appeared with lawyer Hart Green, posted bail 10000, case adjourned to May 29 at Provincial Court House possibly moving to Dauphin.
Edmonton police report an unprecedented wave of banditry over the weekend. Four break ins by skilled cracksmen netted about $1,000 in cash and valuables, including $500 from one safe and $400 from another, with $80 taken from a hash box and a fourth safe left closed.

Regina May 35 Canada must buy products from selling countries for importing nations if it is to sell its wheat, said James Murray chairman of the Canadian Wheat Board before the Turgeon royal grain commission. Murray showed that the board held 54 491 000 bushels of wheat on December 31, compared with 698 652 bushels at year end. He declined to reveal calendar year 1987 sales to date, stating public interest. He argued that normal wheat production cannot be marketed abroad through any system unless trade relations with importing countries are competitive with leading world traders.
Sir Francis Floud Britain’s high commissioner in Canada and Lady Floud will depart on a seven week tour of Western Canada starting Wednesday. They will visit Winnipeg Saskatoon Prince Albert Edmonton Prince George Prince Rupert Vancouver Victoria Lake Louise Calgary Medicine Hat Moose Jaw Regina and Fort William with speaking engagements arranged. They expect to return to Ottawa on July 1.

MacLachlan, Alberta Social Credit Board chairman, says details will be released after the meeting and that Premier Wherhart declined comment on the London announcement.
