Detroit, after a record 62 wins, trails Colorado 0-2 in the Western Conference final. Coach Scotty Bowman notes injuries to Paul Coffey and Steve Yzerman and confirms Bob Errey will miss the rest of the playoffs with a separated shoulder as Detroit eyes Game 3 in Denver tonight.
Veason shot a hole in one on the 97 yard ninth hole using an eight iron during her first night in the Cottonwood Coulee Golf Course ladies league. The 23 year old Hatter described the shot as a miracle then joked things went downhill after. The rest of the day featured school sports including 800 metres races and team tug of war with multiple local schools and students competing.

In Coldwater hundreds honor Indy car driver Scott Brayton with a funeral procession and black hearse. Brayton, 37, died in a practice crash for the Indianapolis 500 when a Lola Menard tailed into a wall at over 200 mph. He had qualified for the pole for Sunday's race.
