A 4.7 magnitude earthquake struck southwestern Guatemala at 9 28 p m causing residents in several provinces to flee outdoors. No damage or injuries were reported immediately according to local authorities and Guatemala City seismological station.
An appeals court in Genoa Italy upheld the convictions of seven Palestinians linked to the 1985 Achille Lauro hijacking. The four member commando seized the ship and redirected it to an Egyptian port. American passenger Leon Klinghoffer was killed during the assault.
