A Grade 11 drama student was suspended for a week after leaving Westgate Collegiate Institute with a prop replica gun at about 1:30 p.m. A passing motorist alerted police and principal Ian MacRae defended the zero tolerance policy saying the act was a poor judgment and a prank.
