A protest of at least 200 ranchers outside Drumheller targets Bill 31 which would pay about 40 million annually to the government from oil and gas activity on Crown land leased to ranchers. Premier Ralph Klein says the bill passed but awaits a negotiated sharing plan among ranchers energy firms and government.
