Mother Not Guilty in Alberta Child Death Case
An Alberta mother Maissoun Terrabain, 22, was acquitted of second degree murder and criminal negligence causing death in the 1997 death of her 15 month old daughter Nadia. The court accepted defense claims her three year old son might have struck the girl with a plastic golf club, with conflicting expert testimony on the force required. Terrabain testified she put the child to bed before the death.

Grand Canyon misprint hits 60-cent stamps
Washington AP reports the post office printed 60-cent international stamps showing the Grand Canyon with the caption Grand Canyon, Colorado. The canyon lies in Arizona, carved by the Colorado River.
