Ottawa Deficit Grows to 21.3 Billion in 1982 83

The Finance Department reports a 21.3 billion yearly budget deficit for 1982 83 up from the prior year. March saw 7.1 billion in spending and 6.3 billion in revenues, narrowing the gap to a total of 21.3 billion for the year with 75 billion spent and 53.7 billion in revenue.

NHL Board meets on Blues sale to Saskatoon group

The NHL Board of Governors opens talks in New York on selling the St. Louis Blues to Coliseum Holdings of Saskatchewan for 13 million dollars. Approval requires at least 75 percent of the 21 team Governors. Bill Hunter leads the investor group and expects approval.
