Ottawa May 17. Emphatic denial by Hon. Robert Forke Minister of Immigration that he trafficked in special ignition permits or had knowledge of Mr McMurray’s dealings. Forke said he did not issue or examine precedents for permits and did not write to any predecessor. Doctor Manion, acting minister in 1926, also denied issuing unlawful permits. The incident closed with Ald Coldwell’s remark and a note of regret for naming Manion.
