Perfect rescue saves 49 miners in Nova Scotia
In Westville Nova Scotia 49 miners trapped for four hours by a rock fall at the Drummond Coal Co No 2 slope were hoisted to the surface unhurt via a 600 foot air shaft. The rescue was described as perfect by owner Henry R Thompson as hundreds gathered in relief.
