Government Drops Plan for CN Railways Reconstruction

Ottawa May 15. Minister Crerar told the parliamentary committee there is no plan to proceed with financial reconstruction of Canadian National Railways this year. A bill to amalgamate the constituent companies was postponed, with Parliament dissolving soon after Easter recess.

Winnipeg grain dealer Fred Bole remanded on fraud charges

Fred H. Tole a prominent Winnipeg grain dealer was remanded for one week in the Provincial Police Court on charges of making false statements connected with advances from the Bank of Montreal totaling at least 850,000. He was released on bail of 050,000 with S. E. Richards KC retained as counsel.
