Liberal-F. N. McCrea opposes Budget in Ottawa debate

In Ottawa May 14 Liberal F N McCrea of Sherbrooke attacked the Budget saying it would remove protection from industry while increasing burdens. He warned defeat of the Budget would harm the country and urged railway, wage reforms and a stand against international unions. Other MPs voiced criticism of the administration and urged rural credit and completion of the Hudson Bay railway.

Seven year old dies in Peg fire in Winnipeg

A Winnipeg fire destroyed a home early today leaving seven year old Norman Hazel ist dead. Two other family members sustained painful injuries while attempting to rescue the children. Aged 12 and the mother suffered severe burns, while seven to three other children were saved.

Armed bandits hold up train in Freeport yards

The Chicago and Northwestern passenger train bound north was held up in the South Freeport yards early today by armed bandits. The amount taken has not been determined.
