Medical Hat eyes tax incentives for Ash Avenue mixed use project
City administrators push a new two tract bylaw to offer tax discounts on newly developed buildings as part of a revived plan to redevelop the Medicine Hat Arena site into a high density mixed use project on Ash Avenue. The deal with New Rock Developments would replace the previous agreement and cover land transfer and upgrades with a $400 000 cap on tax relief over three years while the buyer covers demolition costs. The plan includes a high density land zone allowing six storey structures and awaits June debate.
