Hovercraft Praised by Defence Official in Arctic Trials
A. M. Pennie deputy chairman of the Defence Research Board praised the British built Hovercraft after demonstrations in Suffield and Tuktoyyuk. He noted its ability to move over tundra and muskeg at 50 to 55 mph and its radar for fog but cited difficulty with large sea waves and rough seas as a current limit. He expects larger models to overcome bigger obstacles in future deployments.
