Wreckage Found From Trans-Canada Plane Missing Since December
A two by eight inch piece of metal from the left outboard fuel tank was found on Mount Slesse, 20 miles southeast of Chilliwack BC, identified by TCA as part of the ill fated airliner. No bodies located. Miss Elfrida Rigou led the find and brought the fragment to Vancouver for examination. A helicopter and twelve climbers prepared for a further search from Slesse Creek to the Chilliwack River area.

Miner Survives 74 Hours Entombed in West Virginia Mine
William C. Richmond, 38, spent 74 hours buried in the Donegan mine near Richwood after a roof fall. He described inching through a dark, waterless space the size of a coffin, with rock and slate pinning his legs. Doctors said he showed exhaustion and shock but is recovering in Sacred Heart hospital.

Delegation Seeks Two Changes In Gas Export Permit
A Medicine Hat chamber delegation urged Premier Manning to restrict export of natural gas from the Medicine Hat field within a three mile buffer or extend the 2 percent year limit to 10 years, and to require S P C to develop the gas field in an orderly east to west sequence. The group warned that without safeguards the central productive area could be drained, harming Alberta residents after 20 years. They pressed for precedence of local welfare over S P C and its customers and cited support from about 3,000 citizens.

Toronto couple Mr and Mrs Ray McNeilly say they will petition the Supreme Court of Canada to keep their two year old adopted son Donald Cletus. An Ontario Court of Appeal last week restored custody to the natural mother Helen May Agar of Minneapolis, who had placed the child up for adoption amid questions of instability. The McNeillys plan to press their appeal as Miss Agar plans to travel to Toronto for the case.

Britain to resume Suez Canal use for shipping
Prime Minister Macmillan told the House of Commons that British shipping will resume using the Suez Canal despite the boycott from last fall. He said canal dues will be paid in sterling and most foreign lines have already begun routing via the canal.
